Every panel, event, or workshop offered something to learn from, and LLNN captured a shot of the weekend's panels with a brief description of each session.  Explorations for 2002 delved straight into the heart of current fandom that lies in the surging excitement of manga, voice acting, cosplay, reminiscing about all of 2002's awesome anime con circuit, as well as new and exciting venues to focus on for the next year.

Fundamentals of Design: Jan Scott Frazier gave an excellent overview and demonstration on the art of design in Japanese animation, himself being a leading working figure in the industry itself.  Topics covered all sorts of regions such as character development, mecha design, storyline, purpose of story, and much more.
Dubs That Time Forgot: From the archives of anime history comes yet another invasion to the brain as panelists dug up relics such as Call of the Wild, Daimos, Magnos, Football Robo, Dog Soldier, and Goldwing.  Highlights included awards to mecha shows deserving: Most Unnecessary Transformation Ever!

Con Stories from Hell: Neil Nadelman and Jan Scott Frazier took the helm again to give a brief history into convention life.  Topics included translation hell, bad badges, getting sick, drinking parties, really bad weather, power outages, floods, goofy Japanese guests, stalkers, con wars, evil elevators, and of course, the best story of all time: Scott Frazier's recount of the AX2000 Cake Story.
  

Voice Actors: Doug Smith and Rebecca Forstadt (aka Reba West) led audience members on a journey through time as topics about voice acting included working as crowd extras, extensive voice training, production studios, mastering voice skills, the complexities of sound engineering, improvisation, and dealing with numerous scripts.
Running Conventions: The Front Line: Long-time organizers from Anime Weekend Atlanta, Anime Central, and Sugoi Con were on hand to educate and review the current situation about anime conventions and the growing attendance rate every year.  Topics covered new programming, massive attendance growth, program book printing, hotels, flyer distribution, budgets, anime music videos, and much more.
Robotech Retrograde: For the gear-heads into Robotech, this was a great time to get involved.  Topics included discussions about the worlds of Macross, Southern Cross, Mospeada, Macross the Movie and other related shows at the same time, officer ranking reviews, Orguss parallels, super-dimensional universe, valkyries, bridge bunnies, and the numerous toys that never made it to market.
