Sakura Con 2002 held an absolutely stylish Masquerade ceremony with a large number of skit performances and presentations.  Most of the outstanding skit presentations were so well done and very funny and that made it difficult for the judges to pick out the favorites because they were all really good!  Intermission time gave audience the rare chance to see the latest Sakura Taisen OAV before it comes out on video.

Shown below are some of the most notable skits that LLNN was able to capture during that very exciting night.  Please applaud all the contestants, shown and not shown, who had excellent stage acts throughout the show!
Complete with a flashing lights in the wings and gemstone and a Van on top of its back, the HUGE mecha dragon from Escaflowne flies from the back of the audience onto the stage.  Now that is a stage presence!
"Psycho Freaks" combined the best of fighting shows and video games (Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Kingdom Hearts, etc) as "just some otakus" duked it out on the stage matrix action style.
"What Anime is this Anyway?"  The Trigun world had yet another bad guy with a secret weapon:  JAZZ!  But not everything goes as planned when there is a mix-up with Fushigi Yuugi and other anime characters bouncing into their side of the universe.

Li Shaoran from Card Captor Sakura fended an off an evil sea serpent and gave the roaring audience his victory pose.
A con staff reporter needed a scoop and decided to try unconventional means of jumping off an anime bridge along with other anime characters to make a story by herself.
Gendo tries to convince Tylor on yet another plot to take over the world using "sex appeal" with subjects Lina Inverse, Irvine, Iori, and... a lady with a very fine stick.  But he didn't plan the ensuing romances!

Miaka casts a spell that accidentally swaps some minds on the Fushigi Yuugi characters and the effects are mind-boggling when love springs out of control!  "No da!"

Vash the Stampede has gone mad!  "I'm sorry for the lack of warning, folks, but it's time for my daily massacre!"
Yuna starts picking on various FFX characters and Rikku suspects Yuna's a little... off.  "Maybe she's been spending too much time with Seymour."
Zellos is pissed off because he believes has been fooled into thinking he could be turned back into a normal human after buying loads of anime from the Sakuracon dealers room.

"For My Beloved" gave the audience an excellent Fushigi Yuugi musical that had characters performing the show's opening Japanese song entirely synced in sign language.
It's high time for Anime Iron Chef as characters from FFX, FF9, Devil Hunter Yohko, Cowboy Bebop, and Rurouni Kenshin gathered together to stir up some juices!
"Bakazoku: Unplugged" A family of anime characters shared their wisdom and stories of living with each other, even with the perverts like Happosai.  "Pass the funk!"
"Final Fantasy Recast"  A representative from "Square Soft" holds auditions for re casting the " real" Final Fantasy movie as Laguna (FF8) competes for the spotlight against other challengers Tidus (FFX), Seifer (FF8), Lulu (FFX),  and yes, even a Chocobo (FF7).
Digimon characters are dumped by their lovers and it turns out to be a short battle of angst and Digimon power until Oikawa steps in with his own visions of chaos and despair.
