From contests to movies, Metreon Festival had plenty to keep you busy for a good evening.  Here in this section, we've given only just a hint of what went on during the weekend.  You had to have been there!

Sony Metreon Festival of Anime 2002
Events and Activities

Bandai Entertainment Model Contest: Contestants signed up to build a model in less than 60 minutes and win some prizes.  Signups began in the Bandai Shop and the activity kept going well into the night!

Raffle Prizes Galore: All registered MFA:02 attendees were eligible for raffle prizes sponsored by Bandai, like toys, model kits, manga, and lots more.  Pretty cool way to get a chance to walk away with more than just your own shopping bags!

Portal 1 Gaming: That's right, games everywhere, from RPGs to consoles to arcade to Dance Dance Revolution!  All under one roof and it didn't even have to be a con!

Portal 1 Party Tunes: All the hip music was supplied by SNM Productions: DJ Muteki, DJ MOD, and DJ Socket, those awesome guys who've supported numerous cons throughout the years and never fail to keep the beat going all night long.

Additional Attractions: From shopping to cosplay to hanging around the gaming scene, Metreon Festival also had lots of additional attractions.  Gilles Poitras, author of Anime Essentials, held a seminar discussing his views about anime fandom in the United States.  Bandai Entertainment representatives were on hand to discuss the new Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and other titles for 2003.  Action Theatre held exclusive screening premieres like Cowboy BeBop the Movie, Trouble Choclate, Project Arms, InuYasha, MeltyLancer, Argentosoma, Char's Counterattack, Zone of Enders: Idolo, Sakura Wars: Return of Spirit Warriors, Mobile Fighters G Gundam, Carried By The Wind: Tsukikage Ran, Arjuna, and Love Hina.
