Ani-Magic 2002 had more
main events attractions designed for cosplay and karaoke on stage and saw a big attendance
record for this growing interest. Cosplay groups and individuals from all over the
United States were able to get together well in advance and plan a spectacular stage review
and performance across two nights. And afterwards, fans could kick back and celebrate
with the Nihon Nights in the courtyard. |

  Ceremonies Coverage: All sorts of shows took place
this year, taking advantage of the growing fandom for karaoke and cosplay. Ani-Magic's
Opening Ceremonies on Friday night and Cosplay Under the Stars on Saturday night enjoyed two
kinds of cosplay stage acts. For Friday, many cosplay groups and individuals gathered
on stage for a big Cosplay Karaoke Review with live singing and dancing performances by
Tristin Citrine and her Sakura Taisen company of Lisa, Annie, and Lily, Sailor Jamboree,
Yume no Senshi, Doremi-chan, and a whole lot more! Cosplay Under the Stars held a very
surprising recreation of the Star Wars epic drama with characters from Episode I to IV along
with side stories. And for good measure, events staff Rob Miles managed to coax Ani-Magic
chairman Revell Walker onto the stage to join in the karaoke festivities! |
