Panels and Workshops 3

Meet Wendee Lee: As Faye Valentine in Cowboy BeBop, how could anyone forget this lovely lady who single-handedly manages both direction and voice acting on various titles from popular anime video distribution companies.  Wendee gave it straight: you don't get rich, but you do have a lot of fun if you can take the long work hours.  She also spoke about protection by the Union Screen Actors Guild, payment for extra voices or episodes, redub work on Akira (voice of Kei), and breaking into the anime voice-acting world by starting out at the very bottom: extra background voices.
Anime Trivia: The RAGE were at it again, giving yet another crowd-pleasing anime trivia tournament with tons of prizes to give out to the knowledgeable participants.  Questions included various references pulled from Legend of Black Heaven, Tenchi Muyou, Ah! My Goddess, Trigun, Angel Sanctuary, Cowboy BeBop, Princess Mononoke, X1999, Fatal Fury, Tenshi ni Narumon, Master Keaton, Goldenboy, Ghost in the Shell, Bubblegum Crisis, Pretty Sammy, AD Police, Dirty Pair, Dragonball Z, Gundam Wing, Ranma 1/2, Tekken, Ayashi no Ceres, and many more!

PhoeniX SeeD Cosplay: With a birthday cake donated by AX Head Cheese Mike Tatsugawa and a surprise gift for SeeD member Tonberry currently in Japan, PhoeniX SeeD Cosplay group started off with (left to right) Selphie, Hi-chan, Angel Wings Rinoa, and Irvinator giving a short history of their most memorable cosplay examples: AX99: Escaflowne characters, AX2000/AM2000: Final Fantasy VIII characters, AX2001/AM2001/Fanime2001: Rival Schools and Final Fantasy IX characters and many more ranging from Vampire Princess Miyu to Evangelion.  Seasoned cosplay advice featured tips on using epoxy glues, Model Magic molds for head pieces, exciting skit performances, use of martial arts and dance choreography to keep the audience entertained, searching for cheap costume fabrics at thrift stores, and especially excuses to cosplay just for fun at numerous parties and cosplayer gatherings.  Notable highlights from the panel included Rinnie story about being mistaken for HK superstar Faye Wong and Hi-chan demonstrating the easy adhering and removal of her velcro-fastened snake-themed crotch guard.
Meet Steve Bennett: Having a rare chance to soak in the Los Angeles area, Steve Bennett basked in the all-year vacation atmosphere and sunny weekend while he spoke about his anime history with his fans at the poolside.  Notable highlights included Doraemon being his all-time favorite anime form his childhood days and he likes to lightheartedly joke about Gundam Wing only because the girls like all the cute boys.
World of Anime: Ray Nagar (Agent 760), head chief of the public access cable broadcasted World of Anime, spoke about working with anime companies for copyrights and reviews, personal time vs. World of Anime work time, good communication, budget, technical concerns, tape-to-tape editing, and other behind-the-scenes stories about how to successfully direct and produce such a big fan effort to promote anime fandom in America.
