Held at the Poolside Stage, the "Cosplay Under the Stars" Masquerade contest got underway with numerous performances for eager audience waiting all day to see what some of the best cosplayers and cosplayer groups from around the nation could show off.  You couldn't drive anyone away after the amazing and hilarious skits were pulled off in perfect harmony.  For cosplayers and cosplay fans alike, this night's collection was the elite of the elite, poolside style!  Please enjoy some of the show highlights we managed to capture!

Characters from all over the universe showed up for this starry event, as music and lights pumped up the thrilling performances one after the other.  Performances included characters drawn from and inspired by: Corrector Yui, Ah! My Goddess, Fushigi Yugi, Weiss Kreuz, Pretty Pink Snowbird, Pocket Monsters Digimon, Ayumi Hamasaki, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Gundam Wing Endless Waltz, Final Fantasy VII, Angelic Layer, Dance Dance Revolution, Final Fantasy Tactics, King of Fighters, X-Japan, Grandia 2, Street Fighter Alpha, Card Captor Sakura, Trigun, Final Fantasy IV, Tenchi Muyou, Sailor Moon, and many many more.  It was show you had to see to believe!
Corrector!  Initialize!  Cute Sara debuted with her latest performance as Corrector Yui for the captive audience.  Youthful exuberance was never this great!
Race Car Sunday, Mariah Carey-style: PhoeniX SeeD set new benchmarks for total looniness and chaos mixed with import racing fever Initial-D and Mariah Carey.
Meet the Iron Fist: You guessed it, it was the awesome Sacramento State Martial Arts Club performing their latest version of Fushigi Yugi martial arts!  Action satisfaction!
Anything goes for this oyster!  The world's a delicate  oyster for Anything Goes School of Masquerade Arts as this skit runs the show with "Chess" as cool background music.  Yul Brynner not included.
"I'll get you for this, Rey-Rey!": Hot Yaoi Action and then some as iPlay cosplay group played the Hot Yaoi Action card in a funny and heated Pocket Monsters Digimon battle.  Who's to blame for this one?
Ayumi Tag Team!: Seeing double?  It was a pair of kitty-themed Ayumi Hamasakis singing one of the popular J-pop songs and poking each other on who's the real one and who's the fake.
