AFO4's weekend full of panels and discussions had a full schedule of interesting things to learn and participate in.  From industry leaders to fan functions, fans could sit in and listen to everything from computer animation to cosplay, manga development to trivia shows, and voice acting to AMVs.

The Art of Good Translation: Think the life of a translator is easy?  Toshifumi Yoshida of Viz Communications spoke to ardent fans of translation about the real world of the translation business.  Topics featured dubs vs. subs, variation of dialects, how most manga sticks to Tokyo dialect, difficult phrases to translate properly into an English slang equivalent, and much more.

Off the Beaten Path: Daryl Surat took anime fans off the beaten path to show jewels of crazy anime goodness in the form of Dragonar, Tekkaman Blade, Goagaigear, Brace Police Jei Gear, Go Lion, and much more.  Topics featured silly dub jobs, details you never knew (or whished you never knew), bad American dub jobs, and crazy transformation sequences.

Robotech / Macross: It time to go back in time to Robotech and that awesome Macross history as topics featured a quick review of the timeline from Macross to Mospeada, Orguss, characters you all knew and loved, trivia contest to win Macross prizes, many failed attempts to transform the Southern Cross hovertank, upcoming DVDs, RPGs, new toy releases, and much more.

Big Effin' Robots: Old school doesn't get better than this as the biggest baddest robots talked about included Dunbine, Macross, all the Gundams you could possibly think of, Mazinger Z, Giant Robo, Full Metal Panic, Escaflowne, GunBuster, Voltron, Patlabor, Gaogaigear, Transformers, Robot Jox, and much more.
