More panels than you can shake a stick at and then some! Anime Central 2003 offered a huge
variety of panels galore featuring many esteemed Guests of Honor, noted fans, and industry
representatives from the domestic anime kingdoms all heading healthy discussions on various
exciting anime and manga-related topics ranging from new shows, fan activities, industry
follow-ups, historical perspectives, and other forms of fan entertainment lasting all
throughout the day. Packed full of attendees, every single panel or activity offered something
to learn from. If only school or work meetings were this stimulating. |

Anime Club
Summit: Experienced
officers of numerous anime clubs teamed up to offer sage advice on how to start up and
maintain your own anime club. Topics included geting members, managing tape libraries,
weekend romps to anime and manga shopping paradise, club discounts, assigning officers, and
establishing a good community network.
Costume Construction Panel: Experienced costumers exhibited costumes inspired from Five Star Stories,
Sakura Taisen, Fushigi Yugi, and Captain Harlock, and lent a boatload of advice and
direction on how to make your own high-quality costumes with a tight budget. Featured
topics included researching materials, use of various sewing patterns, staying on budget,
keeping it fun, use of interfacing, various threads for different fabrics, bathroom
concerns, use of proper underwear for those really hot and hard to take off costumes, use of
dyes for various fabrics, anti-gravity hair, hair dye horror stories, hall cosplay vs.
competition, and much more!
